Theme

"AI + FPD" Display Solution Research & Application

Background

As AI drives industrial upgrading, Empyrean hosts the 5th SID China Empyrean-Cup Innovation Competition to deeply integrate AI and EDA, explore flat panel display design optimization, innovative applications, and key technological breakthroughs.

Tool Platform

Empyrean Flat Panel Display EDA Tools provide customers with systematic and efficient FPD circuit design solutions. The full set of processes is supported, including device model extraction, layout/schematic editing, circuit simulation, physical verification, parasitic parameter extraction, and reliability analysis.

Based on a unified Python architecture, Empyrean PyAether® is a fully customized design platform ecosystem with high automation and intelligence. Leveraging Python's open ecology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and various algorithm optimization packages, it enables design processes to become more automated and intelligent.

Task

Contest teams are required to base on the Empyrean FPD EDA Tool System and rely on AI models. Combining personal interests or research directions, teams should focus on application scenarios in the display field to propose an integrated solution for automatic design, simulation optimization, and efficiency improvement. The specific directions and content are not limited.

Reference Examples

  • Based on PyAether, implement general functions for layout routing and image processing/optimization that meet specified constraint conditions…

  • Quickly complete the automatic simulation optimization of circuits with multiple TFT devices (such as GOA circuits) …

  • Rapidly conduct scheme design evaluation and simulation result prediction…

  • Realize the rapid fitting of Compact device models…

  • Other solutions that use Empyrean FPD tools to solve practical problems in theoretical research and design/production…

Evaluation Criteria

Evaluation Criteria

① Entries are anonymized with numeric IDs.

② Projects are evaluated based on seven dimensions: tool relevance, task completion level, originality, innovation, practical applicability, AI integration level, presentation performance.

③ Scoring is conducted by expert evaluation using the standardized system.

Basic Requirements

Team Size

Each team may consist of 1 to 4 participants. A team name and a team leader (the first author of the design) must be designated.

Tool Platform

All teams must use the FPD EDA Tool System of Empyrean exclusively. Failure to comply will result in a score of 0.

Result Submission

  1. Complete all design flow milestones as required;

  2. Submit design documentation for review and defense, including but not limited to design ideas, module design & operation procedures, and result explanations;

  3. Both published research results and unpublished research proposals/innovative ideas are eligible for submission;

  4. Submitted materials must obtain written consent from the participant’s institution/advisor and must not contain any confidential information;

  5. Original ideas are strongly encouraged. If your submission is based on publicly available industry solutions, please provide a detailed explanation of your optimizations.
