Xi Mou

Dr. Xi Mou is a distinguished expert in optical assessment and international standardization with a distinguished career in the fields of light and lighting, virtual reality/augmented reality/mixed reality (VR/AR/MR), and metaverse. She currently is working at Stanford University and serves as the technical director of Hangzhou SanTest Testing Technology Co., Ltd.

Dr. Mou's expertise is widely recognized within the international standardization community, holding the title of registered expert in multiple IEC Technical Committees, including TC110 (Electronic Displays), TC76 (Optical Radiation Safety), and TC274 (Light and Lighting). She also serves as the international standards liaison officer between IEC TC110 and ISO TC94 (Personal Safety - Personal Protective Equipment), playing a pivotal role in coordinating international standardization.

Dr. Mou's leadership has been instrumental in shaping the development of several international standards, including IEC 63145-22-20 (Specific measurement methods for AR type -Image Quality) and IEC 62977-2-2 (Measurements of optical characteristics - Ambient performance). Her contributions have particularly focused on establishing standardized test methodologies for AR glasses, addressing critical aspects such as ambient light contrast, virtual image resolution, secondary image formation, real-world field of view, image distortion, and Michelson contrast.

Beyond AR glasses, Dr. Mou's expertise extends to a wider range of electronic display technologies. She actively participates in several IEC working groups, consistently providing valuable insights and guidance in the development of new international standards.
