Christopher BrownRecently, in 2021, Dr. Brown Joined Schrödinger as the Executive Director of Material Discovery. He has a broad background, having started his career as a molecular biologist at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories followed by a doctorate in photochemistry at The University of Texas at Austin. Recently, Dr. Brown was at Zapata Computing, a quantum computing company, as Director of Quantum Solutions and at Rogers Corporation, an engineered materials company, as Director of Platform Innovation with responsibility for the management of the Burlington Innovation Center. He is an expert in OLED Display technology with extensive experience commercializing electronic materials, having worked in a variety of leadership roles in the OLED Display industry ranging from basic research to inkjet process engineering at Eastman Kodak Company (Sr. Scientist), Plextronics (Director of Materials), Kateeva (VP Process Engineering), and Kyulux (VP Product Development). Over his career, Dr. Brown has demonstrated professional growth and development, evidenced by regular advancement and increasing professional responsibilities. Dr. Brown has been granted 36 US patents (89 globally) with 17 pending US patent applications, 34 publications, and has given numerous presentations spanning topics such as synthetic organic chemistry (inventor of a novel Scholl-reaction), organic light emitting diodes, organic photovoltaics, field-effect transistors, photochemistry, electron transfer model systems, photographic chemicals, inkjet printing, process engineering and quantum computing. |
