Zhengguo XIAO

Zhengguo Xiao, Professor at the Department of Physics, University of Science and Technology of China

Zhengguo Xiao got his PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2015. After a 3-year postdoc at Princeton University, he joined the Department of Physics at the University of Science and Technology of China as a professor.

His research focuses on perovskite LEDs, solar cells, and detectors. Main academic contributions include:

developing a two-step spin coating approach and solvent annealing approach to fabricate high-quality perovskite films;

discovering the ion migration in metal halide perovskites for the first time;

developing in-situ formation of perovskite nanocrystals for high-performance perovskite LEDs;

improving the EQE of perovskite LEDs to above 23% via nanocrystal surface engineering, trap passivation, etc.;

developing the blade-coating approach to fabricate large-area perovskite LEDs.
