Harada Kentaro

Kentaro Harada obtained his doctorate, Dr. rer. nat. (physics), from Technische Universität Dresden in 2008. He is specialized in solid-state physics and organic semiconductor device physics.


He started his research career in the field of inorganic semiconductors as R&D Specialist in Japanese industries. His predominant research background in the field of organic semiconductors was formed at Institut für Angewandte Photophysik, Technische Universität Dresden from 2004 to 2009 and subsequently at Center for Future Chemistry, Kyushu University, from 2009 to 2010.


He accumulated experiences on project management and technological marketing in US-based and Germany-based companies:

2011 – 2014 Key Technical Account Manager at Universal Display Corporation Japan G.K.        

2014 – 2016 Department Manager, Technical Marketing at AIXTRON K.K. 


Since 2017, he conducted government-funded research program at OPERA, Kyushu University as the Program Director & Research Professor and led the collaboration project with world-leading research institutes such as IMEC in Belgium.

Since 2021 until now, he is engaged in OPERA Solutions Inc. as the CEO and concurrently in Kyushu University as a Visiting Professor.
