AI-Wei Xu-Bio

Wei Xu is currently a Research Scientist at TCL AI Lab. He obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc.degrees from Sun Yat-sen University in 2011 and 2014, respectively, and hisPh.D. degree from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in2020. After a period of postdoctoral training at HKUST, he joined TCL AI Lab asa Research Scientist in 2021. He was a Visiting Scholar at Peking University in2012 and a Guest Scientist at Technische Universität Ilmenau in 2015. He hasbeen actively involved in applied mathematics and mechanics research,specializing in numerical methods and parallel computing. His current research focuseson leveraging state-of-the-art AI techniques and numerical methods to tackle keychallenges in the discovery of novel materials.
