Vladimir Bezborodov

Vladimir S. Bezborodov is a professor at the Belarusian State Technological University. He received his PhD and Doctor of Science degrees in organic chemistry from the Belarusian State University in 1980 and 1999, respectively. In 2006, he was awarded the highest award of the Russian Liquid Crystal Society "Commonwealth" – the Fredericks Medal for outstanding work in the field of liquid crystal chemistry. In recent years, along with work in the field of liquid crystal chemistry, he has conducted research aimed at obtaining new substances and biopolymers, fluorescent and electroluminescent materials, and other anisotropic compounds with a wide range of practical application. Based on the materials of his research, the monographs “Texture Formation and Structural Ordering in Liquid Crystals”, “Chemistry of Liquid Crystals”, more than 250 scientific papers, including more than 100 patents and copyright certificates for inventions, were published. He is a recognized expert in the field of liquid crystal chemistry. He has spoken in plenary sessions and has been an invited speaker at national and international conferences.
