涂醒洲涂醒洲博士于中国科学技术大学少年班获得学士学位,于亚利桑那大学光学院获得光学博士学位。毕业后任职于Meta Reality Lab,进行了多种AR/VR光学元件的开发工作。目前他在瑞波科担任研究科学家,作为研究负责人开展了一系列显示光学器件的研发工作,包含:表面光学处理薄膜,OLED相位差膜和衍射光学器件。 光波导设计基础 Foundamental Design of Waveguides 讲座摘要: 光波导广泛应用于近眼显示和车载显示等领域,是实现轻量化和便携化虚拟显示的核心元件。根据工作原理,光波导可分为衍射光波导和几何光波导。在本次讲座中,我将详细介绍这两种光波导的基本原理与设计方法,包括波矢图的构建、不同扩瞳设计,限制光效、均一性的关键因素,以及鬼像和彩虹纹等常见问题的成因。通过本次讲座,听众将全面了解各类光波导的技术特点,并具备对光波导进行基础设计的能力。 Waveguides are widely used in near-eye displays and automotive displays, serving as the core component for achieving lightweight and portable virtual displays. Based on their working principles, waveguides can be categorized into diffractive waveguides and geometric waveguides. In this lecture, I will introduce the fundamental principle and design of both waveguides, including the construction of k-diagrams, different pupil expansion designs, key factors limiting the uniformity and efficiency, as well as the causes of common issues such as ghost images and rainbow artifacts. By the end of this lecture, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the technical characteristics of different waveguides and acquire the essential skills for basic waveguide design. |
